B’NAI Q&A

B’nai Mitzvah planning is well underway and we are getting excited for the big day! While we continue to fine-tune all of the details, we hope you find this list of Q&As to be helpful!

GENERAL EVENT DETAILS

When is the B’nai?

The B’nai is Monday, May 19th, 2025. You can expect the ceremony to begin in the morning (the exact time is still being worked on and will be shared through a formal invitation to be sent closer to the event date). We will serve a light bite upon your arrival to tide you through until brunch/lunch. We ask that you kindly arrive on time so that you may be seated before the service begins.

Where is the B’nai?

Our entire celebration will take place at Riverside MTL. The event will start with the ceremony where William and Elizabeth will read from the Torah, followed by brunch/lunch and dancing!

What is the dress code for the B’nai?

The dress code for the B’nai Mitzvah is “dressy casual”. We get it, this term sounds like its own contradiction but try to imagine somewhere between casual and formal. In other words, not all the way formal but please don’t wear jeans. Most important to us is that you feel comfortable!

Will the event be held inside or outside?

Riverside MTL is an indoor/outdoor venue. The outdoor portions are covered by weather-resistant tents and our plan is to take advantage of as much of the space as possible.

What kind of food will be served?

Following the ceremony (and horah!), we will serve a dairy brunch/lunch. Please let us know as soon as possible if you have any dietary restrictions and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.

Is there parking on the premises?

Yes, there will be plenty of parking available. More details will be shared as we get closer to the event.

Will there be photos taken at the event?

Yes, we’ll have a photographer capturing the special moments. Please don’t be camera shy!

What are transportation options in and around Montreal?

Montreal is a big city with loads of amazing places to explore. While most areas are fairly walkable, we recommend renting a car or using rideshare companies like Uber to get around longer distances. Public transportation is another great option and covers the entire city by bus and underground subway called the Métro.

WELCOME DINNER

Is there a dinner to welcome out-of-town guests?

Yes, there will be a dinner to welcome our out-of-town guests. The dinner will be hosted by Hester and Simon Witenoff and will take place on Saturday, May 17th at Snowdon Deli. For those traveling from outside of Montreal, additional details will be sent to you directly as we get closer to the event.
